it only takes a few seconds.. both of my parents got laser surgery and it took them about 2-3 weeks for fully recover…or until they can rub their eyes.

well one thing is it isn’t not compulsory for anyone younger then 21. If you get it before you have a higher risk of the eyes going terrible again earlier on.
As far as the procedure it only takes a couple of minutes. I had both eyes done this summer. For most people it will last until they are about 40 years ancient, then most people require reading glasses. Where I had my surgery, if for some reason you need an adjustment sometime down the line, it is $500. I would do it again in a heartbeat as opposed to wearing glasses or contacts all the time. Your eyes are sore and watery for a day or 2. And you can’t rub them for about 3 weeks. Very simple & WELL worth it.
