I am really considering getting laser eye surgery. Does anyone know of any potential side affects i might run into? My shape insurance kicks in sometime this month so i would like as much information as doable. It would be nice not to have to deal with glasses and even better not to have to deal with contacts (something i don’t even want to fool with!)

Lasik and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very well-known in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient tales.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and additional international patients who plot to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not roofed by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com
Hope this helps.
A excellent hospital no.problems.My daughter in law had it 4 years ago
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
First and foremost you need to make sure your insurance will cover this surgery. Most do not. Make sure you have an brilliant general practitioner and with normal eye problems you shouldn’t have any side effects beyond the normal healing process.
My concern is that I have had two people who got it and their eyesight was worse.
one has double vision in one eye and the additional cannot focus on whatever thing
I had laser surgery for my eyes in 2000 and still see very well. It is not at 20/20 any longer, but well enough where I don’t need glasses or contacts. Insurances do not usually cover laser surgery because it is a cosmetic surgery. You need to research all of the doctors, and find who has had the most successful consequences. The downfall to laser surgery, is that you will most likely need reading glasses when you get older. also you will need glasses when driving at night to reduce glare from the street lights, and when they reflect of the rain. Not everyone is a candidate for this type of surgery. Your need of glasses will be halted only for a small period of time. After 10 years, you will need corrective lenses. This is not a permanent solution, and risks are very high. One slight mishap, you will lose your sight permanently.
