Having had surgery performed neatly 5 years ago now, I agree with the EyeDoc on the post above…
The surgery will be life changing and not to be full lightly, finding the Most trusted professional should be the number one priority when deciding where to go.
I have been free of glasses for near 4 years and it’s incredible, especially being able to see the alarm clock in the middle of the night, see my wife on the beach when I’m swimming in the sea etc !
Excellent luck, all the best and of you want and more advice or to chat about the surgery, feel free to e-mail me via my profile page……… ciao. :-) )

If you are looking for laser eye surgery, you should look for the best general practitioner not the cheapest surgery. High street optical chains are donation competitive prices, you can go to them if the general practitioner is a qualified corneal specialist, trained refractive surgeons with a lot of experience would also do. But, i prefer corneal specialist, as they can deal with the problems and complications very well. You need to look for the problem free convalescence and price should not matter. As it is an discretionary surgery that means not urgent, can wait if you are small of money. so, reckon about it and wait if you dont have the money to get it done by a proper corneal general practitioner

Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very well-known in India that arranges Laser surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient tales. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not roofed by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Dental surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her Dental surgery done there and she is more than very pleased with the consequences. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

Haai, well you have to consider a lot of options before you really undergo Lasik.
    1) Lasik is a technology driven process and you should find out which place has the best technology. Such as the Zyoptix Machine or the Intra Lase which is a all laser lasik.
    2) You should also find out about the experience of the centre rather than the general practitioner becos anyone can do a excellent Lasik becos its all done by the machine.
    3) You can go to countries like India and Thailand which has medical tourism and you get lasik done at one fifth to one tenth the cost as in UK.
There are a lot of centres in Chennai India and one among them is called pranav eye care centre.
You can search the yahoo to find them out
